Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. For example, it should not be administered to patients allergic to this medication or ergot alkaloids, patients with acute myocardial infarction or acute bleeding, patients taking sympathomimetic drugs, patients with very low heart rates, patients who have not completed hemostasis after intracranial bleeding, and patients with orthostatic dysregulation. Additionally, caution should be exercised when using it in patients with mild bradycardia or renal function impairment. While taking this medication, gastrointestinal symptoms such as dyspepsia, diarrhea, constipation, nausea, and vomiting may rarely occur, and liver function test values may increase. Cardiovascular anomalies such as dizziness, orthostatic dysregulation, and changes in blood pressure may also rarely occur. CNS symptoms such as drowsiness, headache, insomnia, and hypersensitivity reactions such as skin rash and itching have also been reported. When used with antihypertensive medications, blood pressure may drop too low, so blood pressure should be monitored frequently. Moreover, it can affect uric acid levels, so patients with a history of gout should use caution. After taking this medication, care should be taken when driving or operating machinery. This medication is metabolized in the liver, so it may interact with other drugs that use the same metabolic pathway. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should carefully consider the risks and benefits of taking this medication, and breastfeeding mothers are advised to avoid its use or discontinue breastfeeding. Elderly patients may have decreased body functions, so caution is needed, such as adjusting the dosage. Safety for children has not been sufficiently established, so its use is not recommended. In case of overdose, blood pressure may temporarily drop; thus, blood pressure changes should be monitored closely, and necessary actions should be taken. Lastly, this medication should be kept out of reach of children and stored in its original container, sealed. Transferring it to another container may result in a decrease in drug quality or risk of misuse.
