This medication is used to relieve the symptoms of cold such as runny nose, nasal congestion, sneezing, sore throat, cough, phlegm, chills, fever, headache, joint pain, and muscle pain.

How to take

Adult dose

Take 3 times a day, 30 minutes after meals and at bedtime if necessary, maintaining a 4-hour interval between doses. Ages 15 and older: 1 dose of 3 pouches (15mL)

Child dose

Ages 11 to under 15: 1 dose of 2 pouches (10mL) Ages 7 to under 11: 1 dose of 1½ pouches (7.5mL) Ages 3 to under 7: 1 dose of 1 pouch (5mL)

Precautions

This medication may put stress on the liver, so individuals who regularly consume more than three alcoholic drinks a day should consult a doctor or pharmacist before use. The acetaminophen component in this medication can rarely cause serious skin reactions, so if any unusual symptoms such as rash or itching appear, discontinue use immediately and consult a professional. The maximum daily dosage of acetaminophen should not exceed 4,000mg, and concurrent use of this medication with other acetaminophen-containing products should be avoided. Individuals with a history of allergic reactions to this medication or those who have experienced asthma should not use this medication. Infants under three months old and those taking certain antidepressants or antipsychotics should also avoid this medication. While taking this medication, it is safest not to use cough suppressants, other cold medications, antipyretic analgesics, sedatives, or antihistamines together. Children suspected of having chickenpox or influenza, those with a history of allergies, or individuals with major organ diseases such as liver or kidney issues, and women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should consult a doctor or pharmacist before use. If symptoms such as rash, vomiting, dizziness, chest tightness occur after taking the medication, discontinue use immediately and consult healthcare personnel. If symptoms do not improve after 5-6 doses, professional medical attention is necessary. Children under two years old should avoid using this medication unless under special circumstances, and careful supervision by an adult is necessary during use. This medication should be taken according to the prescribed dosage and duration, long-term use should be avoided, and alcohol should not be consumed during treatment. Drowsiness may occur while taking this medication, so avoid operating vehicles or machinery, and consult a professional as there may be risks of side effects when combined with certain medications.

Serious side effects

  • Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor → severe allergic reaction
  • Severe rash with high fever, blisters, peeling skin, pain in mouth/eyes mucosa → severe skin abnormal reaction
  • Asthma attack, respiratory issues accompanied by coughing and fever → respiratory problems
  • Skin or eyes turning yellow (jaundice), extreme lethargy → liver issues (jaundice)

Mild side effects

Rash, redness, itching, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, constipation, swelling, difficulty urinating, thirst (persistent or severe), dizziness, anxiety, tremor, insomnia, high anion gap metabolic acidosis (HAGMA)

Drug interactions

Do not take this medication with cough suppressants, other cold medications, antipyretic analgesics, sedatives, or antihistamines. Do not take if you are using MAO inhibitors or if it has been less than 2 weeks since discontinuing them. Consult a doctor or pharmacist when using diabetes medications, gout medications, arthritis medications, anticoagulants, or steroids. Consult a doctor when taking barbiturates, tricyclic antidepressants, and alcohol.
