How to take

Adult dose

For gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers: 20/800mg (2 tablets of this medication) can be orally administered once daily based on symptoms. Generally administered for up to 8 weeks for gastric ulcers and up to 6 weeks for duodenal ulcers. For erosive or ulcerative gastroesophageal reflux disease: 20/800mg (2 tablets of this medication) is administered orally once daily for 4 to 8 weeks. Precautions

This medication contains rabeprazole and sodium bicarbonate, which is used to treat gastrointestinal diseases by suppressing gastric acid secretion. First, this medication should not be used in patients who have hypersensitivity to rabeprazole or any of its components, those who are taking specific antiviral drugs such as atazanavir or rilpivirine, and women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Patients with impaired liver function, elderly individuals, those with heart or lung issues, patients with severe gastrointestinal ulcers, patients with reduced kidney function, and those with electrolyte imbalances should use this medication cautiously. Particularly, due to the sodium bicarbonate contained in this medication, patients with hypertension, edema, or pregnancy-induced hypertension who need to restrict sodium intake should take care when administered. This medication may rarely cause allergic reactions such as skin rash, hives, and itching, and various adverse reactions have been reported including changes in blood cell counts, liver function anomalies, cardiac symptoms, gastrointestinal disorders, neurological symptoms, respiratory issues, muscle and joint pains, problems with the eyes or skin. Therefore, regular blood tests and liver function tests are recommended during the use of this medication, and medical consultation is required immediately if any unusual symptoms appear. This medication strongly suppresses gastric acid secretion, which may increase the risk of bacterial overgrowth in the stomach, thus medical help should be sought if symptoms of infection such as diarrhea persist. Caution is needed when driving or operating machinery as drowsiness may occur. Additionally, this medication may interact with other drugs, so be sure to inform healthcare professionals about any other medications being taken. Particularly careful consideration is needed when combined with warfarin, methotrexate, antifungals, or some antivirals. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not use this medication, and the elderly are at an increased risk of side effects due to potential liver function decline, thus cautious use is advised. Safety in children has not been established, so it is recommended not to use it in pediatric patients. In case of overdose, there is no specific antidote, and treatment and supportive therapy based on symptoms may be necessary. When taking this medication, do not chew or crush the tablets but swallow them whole, and keep them out of the reach of children. Long-term use may increase the risk of gastric polyps, so the minimum effective dose and the shortest treatment duration are recommended. During the use of this medication, autoimmune disorders such as erythema multiforme may occur, thus, should any related symptoms arise, it is essential to consult healthcare professionals immediately.
