Precautions

This medicine is used to relieve symptoms of asthma and allergic rhinitis. During treatment, significant neuropsychiatric symptoms may occur, so patients and caregivers should carefully monitor for symptoms such as agitation, anxiety, depression, hallucinations, and suicidal thoughts. If such symptoms occur, the medication should be stopped immediately and a doctor should be consulted; most symptoms improve after discontinuation of the drug, but some may persist, requiring ongoing monitoring. Patients who are hypersensitive to any ingredients in this drug or similar medications, patients with renal failure, pregnant and nursing women, and those with certain genetic lactose metabolism disorders should not take this medication. Caution should be exercised when administering this medication to patients with impaired renal or liver function and to the elderly, as blood levels may increase. Common side effects during treatment include upper respiratory infections, nasopharyngitis, gastrointestinal disturbances, and tonsillitis; less commonly, symptoms like dry mouth, insomnia, headache, and drowsiness may occur. Particularly, this drug is not an emergency treatment for acute asthma attacks; appropriate emergency medications should be used immediately if acute symptoms occur. Patients sensitive to aspirin should not take this drug in conjunction with aspirin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. One of the components of this medication may cause drowsiness or fatigue, so caution is required when driving or operating machinery, and it should be avoided in conjunction with alcohol or central nervous system depressants. During pregnancy, this medication should only be used when absolutely necessary, and nursing mothers are advised not to take it. The safety and efficacy of this drug in children under 15 years have not been established, so it should not be used in this age group. In case of overdose, there is no specific antidote, so symptomatic treatment should be carried out as necessary under a doctor's guidance. Do not open the medication until ready to use to prevent exposure to light, and store it in a safe place out of reach of children. Transferring the medication to another container may affect its quality, so this should be avoided.
