This medication is used to treat symptoms of Alzheimer's disease. It helps to improve memory decline and cognitive function impairment due to dementia.

How to take

Adult dose

As Donepezil Hydrochloride, administer 5 mg once daily before bedtime. For 4-6 weeks, administer 5 mg and it can be increased to 10 mg after clinical response. To reduce gastrointestinal adverse reactions, the initial dosage may begin at 3 mg once daily if necessary, but should not exceed 1-2 weeks. Child dose

Precautions

This medication contains Donepezil Hydrochloride Monohydrate as its main ingredient and is used for treating symptoms of Alzheimer's disease. This medication should not be used in certain patients. For example, issues related to the heart (bradycardia, heart block, heart failure, etc.), gastrointestinal problems (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, gastrointestinal bleeding, etc.), liver function abnormalities, nervous system issues (seizures, extrapyramidal symptoms, hallucinations, etc.), respiratory distress, acute pancreatitis, acute renal failure, sudden death have been reported. Additionally, various side effects such as insomnia, dizziness, headache, fatigue, myalgia, rash, blood abnormalities, etc., may occur; therefore, if abnormal symptoms appear, you should consult a healthcare professional immediately. This medication is approved only for patients with Alzheimer's disease and should not be used for other forms of dementia or memory disorders. During treatment, the patient's condition should be regularly assessed to ensure the medication's effectiveness, and if it is ineffective, treatment may be discontinued. Patients with cardiovascular disease should have their heart conditions monitored through an electrocardiogram. This medication may affect driving or operating machinery; therefore, caution is required during the initial stages of treatment or when changing dosages. Pregnant or nursing women are advised not to use this medication, and if necessary, they should consult a physician. Safety in pediatric patients has not been established, so it should not be used in children. This medication may affect liver and kidney function; therefore, regular clinical tests to verify liver and kidney functionality are recommended.
