Precautions

This drug can affect cardiac function and may decrease left ventricular ejection fraction, posing a risk of heart failure. Therefore, cardiac function must be verified with an echocardiogram before starting this medication, and the heart condition should be regularly monitored during treatment. Patients with cardiac function below a certain threshold should not take this medication, and if symptoms of heart failure occur or cardiac function worsens, treatment should be discontinued immediately. Additionally, since this drug is metabolized by certain liver enzymes (CYP2C19, CYP3A4), caution is needed when taking other medications that inhibit or activate these enzymes, as it may increase the risk of heart failure or reduce efficacy. In particular, it should not be taken together with strong CYP2C19 inhibitors or moderate to strong inducers of CYP2C19 or CYP3A4. This medication should not be given to pregnant women due to potential harm to the fetus, and women of childbearing potential should confirm pregnancy status before taking it and ensure effective contraception during and for at least 4 months after treatment. This drug may cause side effects such as dizziness or headache, necessitating caution when driving or operating machinery after taking it. Patients with severe impairment of kidney or liver function should take this medication cautiously, as its safety has not been fully established, and in some cases, its use is not recommended. In case of overdose, serious side effects, such as impaired cardiac function, may occur, requiring immediate medical attention, and measures to reduce absorption, such as the administration of activated charcoal, may be necessary. Patients taking this medication must inform their doctor of all drugs they are currently taking and always check for possible drug interactions. Finally, this medication is not recommended for use in children under 18 due to insufficient safety and efficacy data.
