How to take

Adult dose

This medication is generally taken twice daily with food. The initial dose is determined based on the patient's current treatment regimen. 1. Patients not treated with Metformin: Take this medication 50/500 mg twice daily, 1 tablet per dose; it can be increased to 50/1000 mg. 2. Precautions

This medication contains two components that are used in the treatment of diabetes. The first component is a drug that helps to control blood sugar, and serious allergic reactions or side effects such as pancreatitis may rarely occur, so caution is required during the initial dosage. The second component lowers blood sugar and may pose risks for patients with poor kidney function or liver dysfunction, thus consultation with a physician is essential before administration. Furthermore, this medication should not be used in patients with weak kidney function, acute heart conditions, or severe infections, or in pregnant or breastfeeding women. Caution is also required during irregular meals, vigorous exercise, or the use of other medications, as there is a risk of hypoglycemia or other side effects. Common side effects during treatment may include diarrhea, nausea, headache, and upper respiratory infections, with rare occurrences of severe skin reactions, arthralgia, and myalgia. If hypoglycemic symptoms occur during treatment, it is crucial to inform a physician immediately and receive appropriate measures. Specifically, administration of this medication should be temporarily halted before and after surgery and resumed only after kidney function returns to normal. There may be interactions when this medication is taken with other hypoglycemic agents or specific medications, so all concomitant medications should be disclosed to the physician. Elderly patients should undergo regular kidney function tests due to a higher likelihood of decreased kidney function. In case of overdose, immediate medical attention is necessary, and some components can be removed by dialysis. It is advisable to avoid alcohol consumption during the treatment with this medication.
