This medication is generally taken twice a day with meals, and the dosage is gradually increased to reduce gastrointestinal adverse reactions caused by metformin. 1. For patients not currently treated with metformin: Take this medication 50/500 mg twice a day, 1 tablet at a time; it can be increased to 50/1000 mg twice a day, 1 tablet at a time. 2. This medication contains sitagliptin and metformin, which help manage blood glucose levels. First, be aware of allergic reactions when taking this medication. If symptoms such as skin rash or difficulty breathing occur, discontinue use immediately and consult a physician. Additionally, pancreatitis may occur, so if you experience abdominal pain, vomiting, or severe abdominal discomfort while taking this medication, visit a hospital immediately. This medication may pose risks for patients with impaired kidney function, so the decision to take it should be based on kidney function test results, and it should be discontinued if kidney function deteriorates suddenly. Patients with heart diseases or heart failure should definitely consult a doctor before using this medication. Particularly, if receiving iodinated contrast agents for radiological examinations, this medication should be temporarily discontinued before and after the tests, and it should only be resumed after confirming normal kidney function. It is safer not to take this medication if you are pregnant, may become pregnant, or are breastfeeding. This medication may cause hypoglycemia, so be sure to monitor blood glucose levels if you skip meals or eat irregularly, engage in strenuous exercise, or use it in conjunction with other blood sugar-lowering medications. Avoid alcohol consumption while on this medication, and temporarily discontinue use if you have issues with liver or kidney function, dehydration, infections, or severe trauma. Regular blood tests and kidney function tests should be performed, and supplementation may be needed if vitamin B12 levels drop.
