Improvement of blood sugar control in type 2 diabetes
This medication helps patients with type 2 diabetes to effectively improve blood sugar control when taken alongside diet and exercise therapy. Therefore, this medication is used for blood sugar control in type 2 diabetes.
The dosage for this medication is determined based on the individual patient's current treatment regimen, efficacy, and tolerability, without exceeding the maximum daily recommended dosage of sitagliptin 100 mg and metformin 2000 mg for each ingredient. It should be taken twice daily with food, gradually increasing the dosage to minimize gastrointestinal adverse reactions caused by metformin. 1. For patients not receiving metformin: 50/500 mg

First, severe allergic reactions may occur during the use of this medication, so if symptoms such as skin rash, difficulty breathing, or swelling of the face or lips occur, discontinue use immediately and consult a doctor. There is also a risk of acute pancreatitis, so if abdominal pain, vomiting, or severe abdominal discomfort occurs, notify healthcare professionals immediately. Metformin included in this medication may be dangerous for patients with poor kidney function, so regular kidney function tests should be performed, and this medication should not be taken in cases of significantly reduced kidney function. This medication can pose a risk of hypoglycemia, so when irregular meals, excessive exercise, or concurrent use with other blood sugar-lowering medications occur, blood sugar levels should be monitored carefully. It is advisable to avoid alcohol consumption during treatment, and patients with poor liver function should also refrain from taking this medication. Gastrointestinal side effects such as diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort, and headache may occur, and if symptoms are severe, consult a doctor.
