How to take

Precautions

This medication contains sitagliptin and metformin and is used for the treatment of diabetes. Firstly, serious allergic reactions may occur when taking this medication, so if symptoms such as rash or difficulty breathing appear, stop taking the medication immediately and consult a doctor. Additionally, there is a risk of pancreatitis, which may cause inflammation of the pancreas; if sudden abdominal pain, vomiting, or nausea occurs, a hospital visit is essential. This drug should not be used in patients with impaired kidney function, severe heart disease, acute infections, or dehydration, and especially before and after tests using iodinated contrast agents, use should be temporarily discontinued. It is safest not to administer to pregnant or breastfeeding women, or children under 18 years of age. This medication can cause hypoglycemia, so extra caution is necessary when skipping meals, eating irregularly, engaging in vigorous exercise, or taking other antidiabetic medications. During treatment, regular kidney function and blood tests should be performed, and it is advisable to monitor vitamin B12 levels. Alcohol can be dangerous when taken with this medication, so it should be avoided while taking it. If undergoing surgery, stop taking this medication 48 hours before the procedure and resume after confirming that kidney function is normal post-surgery. Rarely, side effects such as arthralgia, skin rash, and myalgia may occur, so consult a doctor if these symptoms persist. Finally, while taking this medication, closely monitor blood sugar levels and symptoms, and immediately inform the healthcare provider of any abnormal symptoms.
