Precautions

This medication contains two components, each with its precautions. First, one component of this medication can rarely cause severe allergic reactions, so if symptoms such as skin rash or difficulty breathing occur after taking the medication, it should be stopped immediately and consultation with a doctor is necessary. Additionally, this medication carries the risk of pancreatitis, which is inflammation of the pancreas, so it is important to quickly inform medical personnel if symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, or vomiting arise. The other component may pose risks to patients with reduced kidney function, thus kidney function tests are needed, and it should not be taken if kidney function is significantly compromised. This medication should not be administered to patients with compromised liver function or those suffering from acute illnesses such as severe infections, dehydration, or acute myocardial infarction. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, as well as breastfeeding women, should also refrain from taking this medication. While taking this medication, symptoms of hypoglycemia may occur, so it is particularly important to frequently check blood glucose levels and closely observe for symptoms of hypoglycemia, especially when combined with other hypoglycemic agents. Moreover, this medication can be dangerous when taken with alcohol, so it is advisable to avoid drinking. A certain period of discontinuation of this medication is necessary before and after surgery, and it should only be resumed after kidney function has recovered post-surgery. Finally, regular meals, exercise, and consistent monitoring of blood glucose and kidney function are necessary to manage health status properly while taking this medication.
