Pregnant women or women who may become pregnant and those who are breastfeeding should not take this medication and must consult a doctor if necessary. Patients with heart disease or heart conduction disorders should use this medication with caution, as it may cause bradycardia or arrhythmia. Patients taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or with a history of peptic ulcers should also be cautious because this medication may stimulate gastric acid secretion, worsening their symptoms. Patients with extrapyramidal disorders such as Parkinson's disease should use this medication under a doctor's guidance as it may exacerbate their symptoms. This medication can significantly affect the heart, potentially leading to serious side effects like fainting, bradycardia, heart block, or heart failure, so any abnormal symptoms must be reported to a doctor immediately. Gastrointestinal side effects can include peptic ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea, requiring caution. Liver function impairment or jaundice may occur, so liver health should be checked periodically. Neurological side effects may include seizures, movement disorders, hallucinations, insomnia, anxiety, depression, among other psychiatric symptoms.
