Improvement of hypoproteinemia and malnutrition
This medication is used to supplement amino acids in cases of hypoproteinemia, malnutrition, and perioperative conditions. It assists in protein synthesis within the body, promoting recovery and improving nutritional status.
Administer by intravenous drip at a maximum dose of 1 to 1.5 g per day per kg of body weight for total amino acids. The infusion rate should ideally provide a concentration of about 10 g of total amino acids over 60 minutes, with the administration rate set at 80 to 130 drops per minute.
For children, the dosage and infusion rate should be adjusted accordingly.
This medication must be used according to a doctor's instructions. It should not be administered to patients with hepatic coma or those at risk of hepatic coma, patients with severe renal impairment, patients with nitrogen metabolism issues, or those with congestive heart failure or pulmonary edema. Moreover, it should not be used in patients with severely reduced or absent urine output, those with hypernatremia and hyperchloremia or alkalosis, patients with atrioventricular block or severe myasthenia gravis, patients with congenital amino acid metabolism disorders, those with allergies to any of the amino acids contained in this medication, patients with hyperkalemia, or those who have suffered a myocardial infarction. Caution should be exercised when administering to patients with severe acidosis, congestive heart failure, edema due to sodium retention, hepatic or renal impairment. This medication contains sulfites, which may cause allergic reactions or asthma attacks, especially in asthma patients who should be careful. During administration, adverse reactions such as rash, nausea, vomiting, palpitations, and elevated blood pressure may occur, so if symptoms develop, immediate consultation with a doctor is necessary. Rapid or large volume administration may lead to metabolic acidosis, thus caution is required. During administration, blood glucose, electrolytes, liver and kidney function, and acid-base balance should be frequently monitored, and the patient's condition should be closely observed. There may be interactions when used in conjunction with other medications; therefore, it is essential to inform the doctor of any currently taken medications. During pregnancy, safety has not been established, and it should be administered cautiously under a doctor's discretion. In children, due to the immaturity of liver function, the dose should be adjusted downward, and blood ammonia levels should be checked frequently. Elderly patients may have diminished physiological functions; therefore, the administration rate should be slowed, and the dosage adjusted. Care should be taken regarding electrolyte balance, and fast infusion may cause chills or vomiting, so it should be administered slowly. The preparation and management of the liquid medication must be done aseptically, and any discolored solutions should not be used. During storage, the medication should be kept in a sealed container away from air, and it is advisable to store it at room temperature between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius. This way, the effectiveness of the medication is well maintained and degradation is prevented.
