Precautions

This medication is a drug used for the treatment of diabetes, containing two components. The first component helps to control blood sugar, but serious allergic reactions may occur in some patients, so caution is advised. If symptoms such as skin rash, difficulty breathing, or swelling of the face or neck occur within 3 months of taking the medication, discontinue use immediately and consult a physician. The second component lowers blood sugar but should not be administered to patients with poor kidney function or those experiencing severe infection or dehydration. Additionally, acute pancreatitis may develop, so if abdominal pain, vomiting, or severe abdominal discomfort occurs, immediately inform medical personnel. This medication should be taken with regular monitoring of kidney function, and if kidney function worsens rapidly or dehydration symptoms occur, use should be discontinued. Excessive alcohol consumption may increase the risk of side effects from this medication, so it is advisable to avoid alcohol. In situations such as surgery, severe infections, or trauma, the use of this medication should be temporarily suspended and resumed once the condition stabilizes. Additionally, this medication may cause hypoglycemia, so regular meals are important, and extra caution should be taken for hypoglycemic symptoms when taken with other blood sugar-lowering agents. It is advisable not to use this medication in pregnant or breastfeeding women or in children under 18 years of age, as safety has not been confirmed. Elderly patients may have a higher risk of decreased kidney function, therefore dosage adjustment and kidney function monitoring are necessary. During the use of this medication, it is important to routinely check blood sugar, kidney function, and conduct blood tests to monitor health status. If overdose is suspected, visit a hospital immediately for appropriate treatment; this medication can be partially removed through dialysis.
