Hemostatic effect for bleeding (small vessels, parenchymal organs), tissue supplementation (ligaments, tendons, etc.) treatment
The first product, BM Thrombin freeze-dried powder 5000 units, is used to treat bleeding from small vessels or capillaries and parenchymal organs that cannot be stopped by conventional hemostatic methods. It is effective for hemorrhaging due to trauma or during surgery. The second product, the collagen-based tissue filler, is used to supplement ligaments, tendons, muscles, and biological membranes that are damaged or missing during surgical or procedural interventions. This product contains Type I collagen as the primary ingredient and aids in tissue regeneration and recovery. Thus, these two products are used to respectively stop bleeding and supplement tissues.
Dissolve thrombin freeze-dried powder 5000 units in normal saline to prepare a thrombin solution of 50–1,000 units/mL. Typically sprayed, applied, or distributed as powder over the site of local bleeding, adjusting as appropriate according to the site and degree of bleeding. The collagen-based tissue filler should be injected evenly after thoroughly disinfecting the application area and removing the cap from the prefilled syringe to attach to a commercial injection needle.
This drug is made with thrombin, which helps blood clotting. It must not be administered by injection under any circumstances. If used locally in solution form, extreme caution should be exercised to prevent it from entering the bloodstream. Entry into the bloodstream can cause serious life-threatening complications due to clotting. Additionally, this drug may cause allergic reactions, so patients with a history of allergies to this drug or components derived from cows should not use it. Patients with severely impaired liver function or bleeding disorders, as well as pregnant women or those who might become pregnant, should exercise particular caution when using this drug. Rarely, serious allergic reactions such as respiratory distress or hypotension may occur, so if symptoms appear, use must be discontinued immediately and appropriate treatment sought. The risk of thrombosis increases when used with other clotting-related medications, so it must be discussed with a physician. Safety for pregnant women and children has not been established, so it should be used cautiously. This drug should be used immediately after preparation, and when stored, it should be protected from acidic or alkaline environments, heat, heavy metals, and so on. Furthermore, the collagen-based tissue filler used alongside this drug should not be used in patients with allergies to porcine proteins or with infectious diseases. When using the tissue filler, ensure sterility to reduce the risk of infection, and do not reuse any leftover product and must discard it properly. If swelling or warmth is present at the treatment site, care should be taken to avoid exposure to extreme temperature changes, and if side effects persist or worsen, medical consultation is necessary.
