There is a risk of hypoglycemia; therefore, missing meals, irregular eating, excessive exercise, or alcohol consumption should be approached cautiously. This medication may increase the risk of urinary and genital infections; if any infection symptoms occur, immediate consultation with healthcare professionals is necessary. Patients planning for surgery should discontinue this medication 48 hours prior and resume it only after confirming normal renal function following the procedure. In cases of overdose, the risk of lactic acidosis may increase significantly; therefore, immediate medical treatment is required, and hemodialysis may be necessary. Regular monitoring of blood sugar and renal function should occur during the use of this medication, and any unusual symptoms should be reported to healthcare providers promptly. The safety and effectiveness of this medication have not been established in children, so it should not be used in this population.
