Improvement of blood sugar control in type 2 diabetes
This medicine is used to help control blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes. Teneligliptin and metformin work together to effectively manage blood sugar when combined with diet and exercise therapy. It supports stable improvement in blood sugar levels. By taking this medication according to your health status, you can expect positive results. This medicine is used for blood sugar control in patients with type 2 diabetes.
This medication is generally administered once daily with the evening meal, and the dosage is titrated gradually to reduce gastrointestinal side effects associated with metformin. The 20/1000 mg extended-release tablet is taken as 1 tablet once daily. For patients taking the 10/750 mg or 10/500 mg extended-release tablets, take 2 tablets simultaneously once daily. In patients who cannot achieve adequate blood sugar control using metformin alone, the initial dose of this medication should provide 20 mg of teneligliptin once daily in conjunction with the existing metformin regimen. In patients transitioning from teneligliptin and metformin combination therapy, the dose of this medication can start at the existing doses of teneligliptin and metformin. When converting from immediate-release metformin to extended-release, blood sugar control should be closely monitored, and dose adjustments should be made as appropriate. When used in combination with sulfonylureas, consider reducing the dose of sulfonylureas to minimize the risk of hypoglycemia. The maximum recommended daily dose is 20 mg of teneligliptin and 2000 mg of extended-release metformin. The safety and efficacy of this medication have not been specifically evaluated in patients transitioning from other hypoglycemic agents. Since it can induce changes in blood sugar control, any changes in the treatment of type 2 diabetes should be done under careful monitoring. To maintain the extended-release properties, this medication should not be crushed, split, chewed, or bitten, but should be swallowed whole.
