How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dose of this medication is 1 tablet once, 2 times a day. The dose should be determined considering the current treatment regimen, efficacy, and tolerability of each patient without exceeding the maximum recommended daily dosage of Empagliflozin 25 mg and Metformin 2000 mg. Precautions

This medication consists of two main ingredients that help control blood sugar. Caution is warranted because rare but serious side effects such as severe lactic acidosis may occur when using this medication. There can be a risk of hypoglycemia if taken alongside other diabetes medications, so blood sugar changes should be closely monitored. Patients with moderate to severe decreased kidney function, acute kidney issues, severe infections, or heart failure should not take this medication. It is advisable for women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, nursing mothers, and patients with liver dysfunction not to use this medication. Patients scheduled for surgery should discontinue this medication 48 hours before the surgery, and restart only after kidney function has returned to normal post-surgery. This medication may affect the body’s fluid levels, so caution should be taken if there are symptoms of dehydration or gastrointestinal disturbances. During treatment, urinary tract infections or genital infections may occur; if infection symptoms appear, consult with medical staff immediately. Vitamin B12 deficiency may occur; therefore, patients who take this medication long-term should regularly check their Vitamin B12 levels. Alcohol consumption may increase the risk of lactic acidosis; it is advisable to avoid drinking while taking this medication. In elderly patients, kidney function should be regularly monitored, and use should be cautious in patients at risk of hypotension or fluid loss. In cases of overdose, serious side effects such as lactic acidosis or hypoglycemia may occur, so the dosage must be strictly adhered to. While taking this medication, blood sugar levels and kidney function should be monitored regularly and any abnormal symptoms should be promptly reported to a healthcare professional.
