This medication is used for the treatment of diabetes and should not be used in patients with impaired kidney function or serious infections and cardiac issues. It can rarely cause a severe metabolic disease called lactic acidosis. If you experience unusual symptoms or discomfort, consult a physician immediately. This medication may increase the risk of genital infections or urinary tract infections, so prompt treatment should be sought if any infection symptoms arise.
