Precautions

This drug can dangerously lower blood pressure if taken with nitrate medications or NO donors that lower blood pressure, so a doctor must verify if such medications are being taken before prescribing this drug. Patients with cardiovascular diseases should thoroughly examine their heart condition before using this drug, and it is advisable not to use it if there are conditions that may strain the heart. This drug can temporarily lower blood pressure by dilating blood vessels, so patients with underlying cardiovascular diseases should carefully monitor for adverse reactions during sexual activity. Patients with a history of severe arrhythmia, heart failure, unstable angina, low or high blood pressure, patients with retinitis pigmentosa should consult a doctor carefully before taking this drug. If an erection persists for more than 4 hours after taking this drug, immediate medical attention should be sought, as untreated conditions can result in injury to penile tissue. Patients with specific heart diseases or those who have severely impaired blood pressure control may be more sensitive to this drug's vasodilating effects, so caution is needed. Patients taking certain drugs such as Ritonavir may experience a significant increase in the blood concentration of this drug, requiring careful use and potential dosage adjustment. This drug contains aspartame, an artificial sweetener, and should not be taken by patients with certain genetic disorders such as phenylketonuria. Patients who are allergic to this drug or its components, patients taking organic nitrates regularly or intermittently, patients whose sexual life is not recommended due to cardiovascular diseases, those with severe liver failure, uncontrolled low or high blood pressure, those who recently experienced severe cerebrovascular or heart diseases, patients with retinitis pigmentosa, patients taking other erectile dysfunction medications, patients with a history of visual loss, children under 18 years of age, and women, among others, should not take this drug. Patients at risk for penile deformities or priapism, those with blood disorders, bleeding disorders, elderly patients, patients with renal or liver failure, and patients taking CYP3A4 inhibitors should use this drug with extra caution, and dosage adjustments may be necessary. The most common side effects of this drug include headaches and facial flushing, and dizziness, indigestion, nasal congestion, and visual disturbances may also occur. Serious cardiovascular adverse reactions, sudden hearing loss, and vision loss are rare but can occur; if these symptoms arise, immediate consultation with medical personnel is required. This drug does not prevent sexually transmitted diseases and it is safer not to use it in conjunction with other erectile dysfunction medications. Caution is needed when driving or operating machinery, as visual disturbances or dizziness may occur. Taking this drug with other medications that lower blood pressure may enhance the blood-lowering effects, so it should be taken as directed by a physician. Overdosage may lead to increased severity of side effects, so the recommended dosage must be strictly followed; in case of overdose, appropriate medical attention should be sought immediately.
