Precautions

This medication is a dementia treatment with Donepezil Hydrochloride Hydrate as its main ingredient, particularly used for patients with Alzheimer's-type dementia. This medication should not be used by patients who are allergic to certain ingredients, pregnant or breastfeeding women, and those with genetic diseases such as lactose intolerance. Patients with heart diseases or cardiac conduction abnormalities, those with a history of peptic ulcers or who are taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, patients with a history of asthma or obstructive pulmonary diseases, and patients with extrapyramidal disorders like Parkinson's disease should use this medication with caution. This medication may slow down heart rate or induce arrhythmias, and serious side effects such as gastrointestinal bleeding, exacerbation of ulcers, liver dysfunction, seizures, motor dysfunction, and acute renal failure may occur, so if any abnormal symptoms arise, consult a physician immediately. Commonly, side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, dizziness, and insomnia may occur, and these symptoms are usually mild and transient. When starting treatment or increasing the dosage, especially monitoring for side effects is necessary, and if adverse reactions are severe, discontinuation of the medication should be considered. This medication may interact with other drugs, so particularly when taking with heart-related medications, antibiotics, antidepressants, or antipsychotics, consult with a doctor or pharmacist. Pregnant or breastfeeding women are advised not to use this medication unless absolutely necessary, and decisions should be made with caution based on expert assessment. Safety for children has not been established, so it is not used in this population. In case of overdose, severe symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, bradycardia, and respiratory depression may occur, requiring immediate emergency treatment, and antidotes such as atropine may be used. This medication should be kept out of reach of children, and transferring it to another container is crucial for maintaining quality.
