This medication is used for bronchitis, bronchial asthma, rhinitis, and cough accompanied by runny nose and thin phlegm.

How to take

Adult dose

The usual adult dose is 3.0g, taken three times a day before meals or between meals.

Precautions

This medication contains lactose and should not be used by patients with a genetic disease who cannot break down lactose. Patients who are very weak or recovering from illness must consult a specialist before taking this medication. Patients with high blood pressure or heart or kidney diseases should be cautious as symptoms may worsen during use. Elderly individuals may have decreased bodily functions and should use this medication carefully, possibly adjusting the dosage. Patients with swelling or previous skin rashes or itching due to medication should consult a specialist. Women currently receiving other treatments or who are pregnant or may become pregnant also need to consult before taking this medication. Patients with weak stomachs or symptoms of appetite loss, nausea, or vomiting may find their symptoms worsen during use. Patients who sweat excessively, have hyperthyroidism, or urinary disorders should also take caution. Diabetic patients should consult a specialist as the ingredients contained in this medication may raise blood sugar. If you experience swelling of the face or hands, elevated blood pressure, or headaches during use, immediately stop taking the medication and consult a specialist. If muscle weakness, cramps, or paralysis symptoms arise, this medication should be discontinued. If symptoms such as skin rash, itching, appetite loss, nausea, vomiting, general malaise, jaundice, cough, shortness of breath, urinary disorders, insomnia, excessive sweating, rapid pulse, palpitations, or mental agitation occur, consult a specialist immediately. If symptoms do not improve after 1 month of use, discontinue and consult a specialist. Be sure to adhere to the prescribed method and dosage, and adult supervision is required for administration to children. Caution is needed when using this medication with other medications containing potassium or licorice, or certain diuretics as side effects may occur. When taking this medication with other herbal medicines, care should be taken to avoid overlapping ingredients. Using this medication in combination with ephedra, ephedrine, MAO inhibitors, thyroid preparations, catecholamines, or xanthine derivatives may lead to insomnia, excessive sweating, rapid pulse, palpitations, general weakness, or mental agitation, so caution is needed. This medication should be stored away from direct sunlight and in a cool place with low humidity, and must be sealed after use.
