View approved original text

This medication helps control blood sugar levels in adults with Type 2 diabetes. It can be used in conjunction with dietary and exercise regimens or taken alone. If blood sugar control is inadequate with monotherapy, it can be combined with other diabetes medications like metformin. Additionally, it can be added when blood sugar control is still insufficient even with metformin and other medications. Special caution is required for Type 2 diabetic patients with cardiovascular diseases who have difficulty controlling blood sugar levels. Overall, this drug effectively improves blood sugar control in patients with Type 2 diabetes.

In patients with mild to moderate heart failure, this medication should be used with caution, and it is not recommended for those with severe heart failure.
