Efficacy & effects

Improvement of blood sugar control in type 2 diabetes

  • Difficulty in blood sugar control for patients with type 2 diabetes
View approved original text

This medication is used in conjunction with diet and exercise to help control blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes. It can be used alone, but if the patient has no prior experience in diabetes treatment and finds it difficult to control blood sugar levels with monotherapy, it can be used in combination with metformin. Additionally, if blood sugar control is insufficient with monotherapies such as sulfonylureas, metformin, thiazolidinediones, or insulin, this medication can also be combined for treatment. In cases of combination therapy where blood sugar control is still insufficient, adding this medication can enhance effectiveness. By allowing flexible dosing in various scenarios, it helps improve blood sugar control.
