Improvement of hypertension and hypercholesterolemia, reduction of cardiovascular disease risk
This medication is developed for patients who need to take both telmisartan and rosuvastatin. Telmisartan is primarily used for the treatment of essential hypertension and plays a role in reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases. It particularly reduces the risk of myocardial infarction, stroke, and death due to cardiovascular diseases in high-risk patients over 55 years of age who cannot use ACE inhibitors. Rosuvastatin calcium helps to lower blood cholesterol levels in patients with hypercholesterolemia and dyslipidemia, thereby delaying the progression of atherosclerosis. Additionally, it is effective in reducing the risk of stroke, myocardial infarction, and revascularization in patients at high risk for cardiovascular diseases. The combination of these two medications is used to improve cardiovascular health in patients with both hypertension and hyperlipidemia.
Telmisartan: The recommended oral dosage is 40 mg once daily; it may be effective at 20 mg once daily depending on the patient. If necessary, the dosage can be increased to 80 mg once daily. For the purpose of reducing cardiovascular risk, it is recommended to take 80 mg orally once daily. Rosuvastatin Calcium: The initial dose is 5 mg once daily, with a maintenance dose of 10 mg once daily. Dosage can be adjusted at intervals of 4 weeks or more.
