Efficacy & effects

Improvement in blood glucose control in type 2 diabetes

  • Difficulty in controlling blood glucose in patients with type 2 diabetes
View approved original text

This medication is used to assist in the improvement of blood glucose control in patients with type 2 diabetes, in conjunction with dietary therapy and exercise therapy. It can be administered alone, but if previous diabetes medication experience is absent and blood glucose control is difficult with monotherapy, it can be used in combination with metformin. Furthermore, when sufficient blood glucose control is not achievable with monotherapy or in combination with sulfonylureas, metformin, thiazolidinediones, or insulin, this medication can be added to enhance treatment effects. Thus, it effectively improves blood glucose control in type 2 diabetes when used alongside various pharmacotherapy.
