This drug is used as an adjunct to diet to lower total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, Apo B, triglycerides, and non-HDL cholesterol levels and to raise HDL cholesterol levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia. It can be used as adjunctive therapy in patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia when other lipid-lowering therapies are ineffective. During the treatment of dyslipidemia, proper dietary adjustments and non-pharmacological methods should be prioritized, and this medication is used when those methods are insufficient. Before administering this drug, secondary causes such as diabetes and hypothyroidism should be checked and treated if necessary. It helps safely control lipid levels in patients at high risk for cardiovascular disease. This drug is effective for the treatment of hypercholesterolemia and dyslipidemia.
