Reduction of cholesterol and increase of HDL in primary familial hypercholesterolemia and dyslipidemia, helping to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.
This medicine is used to lower total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, Apo B, triglycerides, and non-HDL cholesterol levels while increasing HDL cholesterol in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia. It is also used as an adjunct treatment in patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia who do not respond adequately to other treatments. This drug should be used in conjunction with dietary measures to maximize effectiveness, and secondary causes of high lipid levels, such as hypothyroidism, should also be addressed. In cases of very high lipid levels, it is essential to establish an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan through special tests. It provides appropriate lipid-lowering therapy for patients at high risk for cardiovascular diseases, helping improve health.
This drug is administered once daily irrespective of meals. For primary hypercholesterolemia, the dosage range is 10/10 mg to 10/80 mg daily. As an initial dose, 10/10 mg or 10/20 mg once daily is recommended. For patients requiring a greater reduction in LDL cholesterol (more than 55%), 10/40 mg once daily is recommended as an initial dose. After starting the treatment or adjusting the dose, blood lipid levels should be checked at intervals of more than 2 weeks.
