This medication is used as an adjunct to diet for lowering total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, apo B, triglycerides, and non-HDL-cholesterol levels, as well as for raising HDL-cholesterol levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia. Additionally, it can be administered either as an adjunct to other lipid-lowering therapies or as monotherapy in homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia patients. This medication is suitable for patients at high risk of atherosclerotic vascular disease due to dyslipidemia and should be used in conjunction with a proper diet. Before administration, it is important to identify other causes of dyslipidemia and proceed with treatment as necessary. Regular monitoring of total cholesterol and lipid levels is crucial to assess treatment effectiveness. This medication helps improve lipid levels in patients, thereby reducing the risk of related complications.
