This drug helps reduce elevated total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, Apo B protein, triglycerides, and non-HDL cholesterol levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia (heterozygous familial and non-familial) or mixed dyslipidemia, and increases HDL cholesterol levels. Additionally, it is used as an adjunct to other lipid-lowering therapies for patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia or as an alternative treatment when other therapies are ineffective. This drug should be used in conjunction with a proper diet, and other secondary causes of dyslipidemia must be identified and treated. This helps effectively regulate cholesterol and lipid levels in the body, thus reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, this drug is used in the treatment of hypercholesterolemia and dyslipidemia.
