Efficacy & effects

Improvement of blood sugar control in type 2 diabetes

  • Difficulty in blood sugar control in patients with type 2 diabetes
View approved original text

This medication is used in conjunction with dietary and exercise therapy to help control blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes. It can be administered alone, and in cases where blood sugar control is difficult with monotherapy in patients who have not previously used diabetes medications, it is used in combination with metformin. Additionally, when blood sugar control is insufficient with monotherapy of sulfonylureas, metformin, thiazolidinediones, or insulin, this medication can be administered in combination. In cases where complex combination therapy is needed, this medication can also be added to support more effective blood sugar management. Thus, this medication is used to improve blood sugar control at various stages of treatment.
