Efficacy & effects

Improvement of blood sugar control in type 2 diabetes

  • Difficulty in blood sugar control in patients with type 2 diabetes
View approved original text

This medication is used to assist blood sugar control in patients with type 2 diabetes, supplementing diet and exercise therapy. It can be administered alone when treatment is initiated and may be combined with metformin in cases where blood sugar control is insufficient with monotherapy. Additionally, it enhances blood sugar control when used in conjunction with other antidiabetic medications such as sulfonylureas, metformin, thiazolidinediones, and insulin. If multiple-agent therapy is still insufficiently effective, this drug can be added to enhance efficacy. By systematically managing blood sugar through gradual monotherapy or combination therapy, it helps maintain blood glucose levels.
