Precautions

This drug is used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction, and the underlying cause should be determined through a physician's diagnosis and physical examination before use. Sexual activity may put stress on the heart; therefore, patients with cardiovascular diseases should exercise particular caution, and if any heart-related symptoms occur during or after sexual activity, they should stop immediately and consult a doctor. If an erection lasts longer than 4 hours after taking this medicine, seek medical attention immediately, as untreated prolonged erection may cause damage to the penile tissue. Co-administration with nitrate preparations or NO donors can lead to excessively low blood pressure; thus, these should be avoided during the use of this medication. This drug should not be administered to patients with severe cardiovascular diseases such as myocardial infarction, angina, heart failure, or stroke, nor to patients with hereditary retinal disease or hypersensitivity. Co-administration with other erectile dysfunction treatments is not recommended as safety and efficacy have not been established. Caution is necessary when administering this drug to patients with severely impaired kidney or liver function, and symptoms of hypotension may appear when taken with certain antihypertensive agents. In clinical trials, side effects such as headache, dyspepsia, back pain, myalgia, flushing, and other symptoms have been reported, and rarely, changes in vision, hearing loss, and cardiovascular reactions may occur. If sudden loss of vision or hearing occurs during the course of this medication, discontinue use immediately and seek medical attention. Caution should be exercised when taken with alcohol as it may increase the likelihood of blood pressure drops or dizziness. In the case of overdose, standard treatment should be administered, and dialysis has little effect on the removal of this drug. This medication is not for use in children, females, or newborns, and safety during pregnancy has not been established. The effect on driving or operating machinery is minimal, but it is advisable to confirm individual reactions before engaging in these activities. Store in a place out of reach of children and keep in its original packaging to avoid exposure to air or moisture.
