Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to amide local anesthetics. Caution should be exercised when administering to patients with mucosal injury at the application site. During the use of this medication, serious side effects such as shock may occur; therefore, the patient's condition must be closely monitored, and if symptoms such as drop in blood pressure, facial pallor, irregular pulse, or respiratory depression occur, administration should be stopped immediately and appropriate treatment should be provided. As central nervous system side effects may cause tremors or seizures, administration should be halted immediately if such symptoms arise, and appropriate pharmacological treatment should be conducted. Various neurological symptoms such as drowsiness, anxiety, dizziness, nausea, headache, hyperexcitability, confusion, and respiratory depression may appear, necessitating careful observation. Cardiovascular effects may result in bradycardia, hypotension, circulatory failure, and in severe cases can lead to cardiac arrest, so caution is advised. Skin reactions may include tissue disorders, urticaria, swelling, and allergic reactions, so it is important to report any adverse reactions immediately. When using this medication, it is advisable to prepare for immediate emergency treatment and to administer the minimum necessary dose after thoroughly checking the patient's overall condition to minimize side effects. When applied to the oropharynx, swallowing function may be impaired, posing an aspiration risk, so it is recommended to avoid food intake for 60 minutes after administration, especially as children frequently consume food, which requires extra caution. Due to potential trauma during mastication caused by tongue or oral mucosal paralysis, care should be taken after use. For women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, as the safety of this medication has not been established, it is preferable to administer it only when the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks. When administered to breastfeeding women, caution is necessary as it is uncertain whether this medication is excreted in breast milk. Finally, it is important to shake this medication well before use to ensure uniform distribution.
