This medication is used to alleviate cough and phlegm caused by acute and chronic respiratory diseases. It is also effective for cough symptoms associated with children's epidemical cold or common cold. Therefore, it helps improve cough and phlegm symptoms, enhancing respiratory health.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

Adults should take 10ml three times a day. Adjust dosage based on age and symptoms.

Children's dosage

Children aged 3 to 12 years should take 5ml three times a day. Adjust dosage based on age and symptoms.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. For instance, patients who are allergic to this medication, those with ulcers in the stomach or duodenum, patients with glaucoma, patients with lower urinary tract obstruction conditions such as benign prostatic hyperplasia, as well as premature infants and newborns, should not be administered this medication. Additionally, patients with conditions such as increased intraocular pressure, hyperthyroidism, peptic ulcers, cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, epilepsy, bronchial diseases, and liver diseases should use this medication with caution. In particular, it is advisable not to administer this medication to newborns unless it is for severe conditions. When taking this medication, gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, stomatitis, heartburn, and diarrhea may rarely occur. Also, allergic reactions such as skin rash, itching, headache, tinnitus, and bronchospasm may occur, and in severe cases, tachycardia or hypertension may also arise. Severe allergic reactions or shock symptoms may appear; if symptoms such as difficulty breathing, cyanosis, or hypotension occur, the administration must be stopped immediately, and appropriate treatment should be received. In cases of seizures or confusion, the condition should be closely monitored, and medication dosage should be adjusted or temporarily suspended. If abnormalities such as aplastic anemia or agranulocytosis are discovered through blood tests, administration should be stopped. Neuropsychiatric symptoms may include drowsiness, headache, insomnia, dizziness, and decreased concentration, so caution is advised. This medication may cause drowsiness, so it is recommended to avoid driving or operating dangerous machinery while taking it. Additionally, this medication contains sodium benzoate, which may irritate the skin, eyes, or mucous membranes. Drug interactions should also be taken into account. If taken with certain antibiotics, the efficacy of the antibiotics may decrease, therefore it should be taken with at least a 2-hour interval. Taking it with alcohol or central nervous system depressants can intensify drowsiness. Additionally, toxicity may increase when taken with certain medications, so it is important to consult healthcare professionals. Pregnant or potentially pregnant women should use this medication with caution, and breastfeeding women should also be cautious as this medication may be secreted in breast milk. Elderly patients may have decreased bodily functions, so monitoring their condition is important while administering this medication. In case of overdose, severe central nervous system symptoms or cardiovascular anomalies may occur, necessitating emergency treatment such as inducing vomiting or gastric lavage.
