Rapid short-term treatment of moderate pain (post-operative) and fever.
This medication is used in situations where severe pain or high fever requires rapid intravenous administration or cannot be administered by other means. It is particularly effective for temporarily alleviating moderate pain that occurs after surgery and for quickly reducing fever. It helps improve these symptoms quickly, thus reducing patient discomfort.
Adults weighing over 50 kg 4 times a day, administer 1000 mg of acetaminophen as a single dose, with a minimum interval of about 4 hours. Maximum daily dosage must not exceed 4 grams. For children weighing over 33 kg and adults weighing under 50 kg Administer approximately 15 mg/kg of acetaminophen (this drug 1.5 ml/kg) as a single dose, with a minimum interval of 4 hours. Maximum daily dosage is 60 mg/kg.
Children weighing 33 kg (about 11 years) or more Administer approximately 15 mg/kg of acetaminophen (this drug 1.5 ml/kg) as a single dose, with a minimum interval of 4 hours. Maximum daily dosage is 60 mg/kg.
This medication has a risk of overdose due to confusion between milligrams and milliliters during administration, so the correct dosage should be checked and administered carefully. It is safer to use an appropriate analgesic instead of this medication when oral administration becomes possible. Always check to see if other medications contain acetaminophen to avoid excessive dosing. Exceeding the recommended dosage can cause serious liver damage, so patients with liver function issues should be especially cautious. Symptoms of liver damage may appear between 2 to 6 days after administration, so immediate medical attention should be sought if unusual symptoms occur. Patients with liver problems or those who consume a lot of alcohol daily must consult a physician before taking this medication. If skin rashes or allergic reactions occur after taking this medication, stop the medication immediately and seek medical treatment. Patients allergic to acetaminophen or this medication, those with peptic ulcers, severe liver or kidney disorders, or heart dysfunction should not use it. Patients with a history of aspirin-induced asthma or those on specific medications should also avoid using this medication. Patients with liver impairment, kidney impairment, peptic ulcers, blood abnormalities, a tendency to bleed, elderly patients, pregnant women, and nursing mothers should use this medication cautiously. This medication can rarely cause serious side effects such as blood cell reduction, increased liver enzymes, kidney failure, and skin rashes, so immediate consultation with a healthcare provider is required if unusual symptoms develop. There may be interactions with other medications, especially when used together with probenecid, salicylamide, isoniazid, anticonvulsants, anticoagulants, etc. It does not affect driving or operating machinery, but this medication should not be mixed with other drugs. Children and elderly patients should use the minimum dosage and carefully monitor for adverse reactions. During pregnancy, the benefits and risks of this medication should be evaluated cautiously, while it can generally be used safely during breastfeeding. Patients with severely impaired kidney function should use this medication cautiously and extend the dosing interval. In case of overdose, symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, and abdominal pain may appear, and in severe cases, it can lead to liver damage and life-threatening conditions, necessitating immediate hospital attention. This medication should not be stored above 30 degrees Celsius, and refrigeration or freezing should be avoided. Prior to use, check for any foreign substances or discoloration. As it is for single use, any remaining solution must be discarded after use.
