Treatment of superficial fungal infections (athlete's foot, body ringworm, etc.) and onychomycosis
This medication is effective for adults in treating athlete's foot, body ringworm, tinea corporis, and onychomycosis caused by dermatophytes. In children, it is used for the treatment of tinea capitis, thereby helping to improve symptoms of fungal infections on the skin and nails.
As terbinafine, 125 mg once or 250 mg once daily. Duration of treatment depends on the condition: 1) Dermatophytosis Athlete's foot (interdigital, plantar/moccasin type): 2-6 weeks Body ringworm: 2-4 weeks Groin ringworm: 2-4 weeks 2) Onychomycosis Usually administered for 6 weeks to 3 months. If the infection is in a toenail or a relatively small toe, or in a younger patient, the treatment duration may be shortened to less than 3 months. The usual treatment duration for nail infections is 3 months, but in some patients, it may take 6 months or more. Treatment duration may be prolonged in patients with slow nail growth. 2. Children: Administered to children over 2 years old. There is insufficient experience with children under 2 years, so it is not recommended. Tinea capitis: 4 weeks Tinea capitis mainly occurs in children. To prevent recurrence of the infection, treatment should be properly conducted for a designated period. 1) Under 20 kg (under 5 years old): administer 62.5 mg once daily. Due to insufficient experience, the benefits and risks of treatment should be evaluated before deciding to administer. 2) 20-40 kg (5 to 12 years old): administer 125 mg once daily. 3) Over 40 kg (over 12 years old): administer 250 mg once daily. 3. Patients with renal impairment Patients with a creatinine clearance of less than 50 mL per minute should reduce the daily dose by half.
Administered to children over 2 years old. Tinea capitis: 4 weeks 1) Under 20 kg (under 5 years old): administer 62.5 mg once daily. Due to insufficient experience, the benefits and risks of treatment should be considered before use.
This medication is not recommended for patients with chronic liver disease or active liver disease. You must check your liver health status before taking this medication and undergo regular liver function tests. If any abnormalities in liver function occur, discontinue the medication immediately. Symptoms that may indicate liver dysfunction include persistent nausea, loss of appetite, fatigue, vomiting, pain in the upper right abdomen, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes), dark urine, and pale stools; if any of these symptoms occur, consult a doctor right away. This drug may cause severe liver damage such as hepatic failure, and treatment should be stopped immediately if liver damage progresses. Additionally, patients with allergic reactions to this drug, blood disorders, severe renal failure, children under 2 years old, and breastfeeding women should not take this medication. Patients with lactose intolerance should also avoid this drug. Use this medication cautiously in patients with renal impairment, the elderly, and children weighing less than 20 kg. If severe rashes or allergic reactions occur, discontinue use immediately. Special caution is necessary for patients with psoriasis or systemic lupus erythematosus. This drug may cause various side effects, and liver function abnormalities, blood disorders, skin rashes, muscle pain, gastrointestinal disturbances, mental changes, and neurological symptoms have been reported. If any of these symptoms occur, consult a healthcare professional promptly. Be careful when driving or operating machinery, as symptoms such as dizziness may occur. This medication may interact with other drugs, so if you are currently taking any medications, you must inform your healthcare provider, especially when used in conjunction with drugs metabolized in the liver. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only take this medication if the benefits outweigh the risks, and breastfeeding women should discontinue nursing while taking this medication. In case of overdose, symptoms such as headache, nausea, abdominal pain, and dizziness may occur, so if these symptoms appear, visit a hospital immediately. Store this medication out of reach of children, away from direct sunlight, and at room temperature.
Hepatobiliary failure, hepatitis, cholestasis, jaundice, neutropenia, pancytopenia, agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis, severe skin reactions (Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, rash accompanied by eosinophilia and systemic symptoms), rhabdomyolysis, severe allergic reactions (urticaria, severe swelling)
Rash, itching, fever, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, malaise, rash, photosensitivity reaction, erythema multiforme, toxic epidermal necrolysis, desquamative dermatitis, vesicular dermatitis, psoriasis-like rash, worsening of psoriasis, hair loss, musculoskeletal reactions (arthralgia, myalgia), weakness, increased CPK, elevation of myoglobin in blood and urine, hypotension, respiratory distress, chest tightness, urticaria, erythema, facial edema, lymphadenopathy, abdominal bloating, decrease in appetite, dyspepsia

This medication may be sensitive to air or moisture, so it must be stored in a tightly sealed container. The recommended storage temperature is between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius at room temperature. This helps ensure the safety and efficacy of the medication.
