This medication is used to improve cough and phlegm symptoms caused by acute bronchitis and acute upper respiratory infections.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults take 1 sachet (20 mL) three times a day after meals orally.

Precautions

This medication is not recommended for use in people under 18 years of age with obesity, obstructive sleep apnea syndrome, or severe lung disease due to the increased risk of serious respiratory depression. Patients with hypersensitivity to this drug, those taking MAO inhibitors or who have recently stopped taking them within the last 2 weeks, children under 12 years, women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, patients with glaucoma, patients with lower urinary tract obstructive diseases such as prostatic hyperplasia, those with a tendency to bleed or taking anticoagulants, and those with severe liver or kidney diseases should not take this medication. Patients with a history of allergies, or who have previously experienced allergic symptoms due to medication, those with liver, kidney, or thyroid diseases, diabetes, patients in a weakened state, those with high fever, elderly patients with cardiovascular diseases, women of childbearing potential, those with increased intraocular pressure or urination disorders, individuals with certain cough symptoms, those with gastrointestinal diseases, epilepsy patients, and individuals allergic to caramel included in this medication should use it with caution. Drowsiness, dry mouth, nausea, dizziness, and facial edema may occur while taking this medication, so it is advisable to avoid driving or operating machinery. Overdosage or prolonged use should be avoided, and if symptoms of liver damage (jaundice, dark urine, abdominal pain, etc.) occur during use, use should be discontinued immediately and a doctor consulted. If a fever persists for several days or symptoms such as respiratory difficulty or bloody sputum do not improve, rapid consultation with a healthcare professional is advised. It is advisable not to use this medication in combination with other cough suppressants, cold medications, antihistamines, or sedatives, as taking it with alcohol or central nervous system depressants may increase drowsiness. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not take this medication, and safety in adolescents under 19 years has not been confirmed; therefore, its use is not recommended. In particular, children under 12 years should not take it due to the high risk of respiratory depression, and elderly patients should be observed closely and take it with care due to decreased physical function. In case of overdose, symptoms such as central nervous system disturbances, seizures, apnea, and cardiovascular abnormalities may occur, and immediate emergency treatment such as inducing vomiting or gastric lavage is necessary. This medication should be stored out of reach of children, protected from direct sunlight, and kept in a cool place with low humidity. Additionally, it is safer not to transfer it to another container to maintain quality.
