This medication is used for patients who require simultaneous treatment with telmisartan and atorvastatin. Telmisartan is primarily used for the treatment of essential hypertension and helps to reduce the risk of myocardial infarction, stroke, and cardiovascular mortality in patients over 55 years old who are at high risk for cardiovascular disease or who cannot use ACE inhibitors. Atorvastatin is used in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia when diet and exercise are not sufficient, lowering total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol levels to delay the progression of atherosclerosis. Additionally, it is used as an adjunct to dietary therapy in patients with hypercholesterolemia and abnormal beta-lipoproteinemia. In high-risk populations with cardiovascular risk factors, it helps to reduce the risk of stroke, myocardial infarction, and vascular revascularization. This medication is therefore used to manage both hypertension and hyperlipidemia simultaneously and improve cardiovascular health.
