This medication helps improve blood sugar control and manage cardiovascular risk in patients with type 2 diabetes.
The recommended dose of this medication is 10 mg once daily for monotherapy and combination therapy with other antihyperglycemic agents such as insulin. For initial combination therapy: when there is no prior experience with diabetes medication, the doses are 5 mg once daily or 10 mg once daily when combined with metformin.
