This medication helps alleviate symptoms of anxiety, tension, and restlessness that occur after surgery or in neurotic conditions. It also reduces itching associated with various skin diseases such as urticaria, eczema, and dermatitis. Therefore, it is used to improve these nerve and skin-related symptoms.
Dosage
Psychiatric area: 50 mg divided into 3 doses per day (12.5 mg, 12.5 mg, 25 mg). The maximum dose is 100 mg per day. Dermatology area: 30-60 mg divided into 2-3 doses per day, administered orally. Adjust according to age and symptoms. For the elderly: start at half the recommended adult dosage, with a maximum dose of 50 mg per day.
Precautions
This medication may prolong the intervals of electrical signals related to the heart rhythm, so patients with heart problems should be particularly cautious. If irregular heartbeat symptoms occur, discontinue use immediately and visit a hospital. Individuals with allergies to this medication, specific intraocular pressure diseases, hereditary diseases, pregnant or breastfeeding women should not take this drug. Patients with weakened liver or kidney function should adjust the dosage of this medication, and caution is also required for patients with epilepsy or alcohol addiction. This medication can cause various side effects such as drowsiness, headache, and dry mouth, and in rare cases, serious allergic reactions may occur. Co-administration with other central nervous system depressants or alcohol can worsen side effects, so it should be avoided. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should refrain from taking this medication as it may harm the fetus or infant. Caution is required while driving or operating machinery as drowsiness or dizziness may occur. In case of overdose, serious symptoms may appear, requiring immediate medical treatment, and there is no specific antidote. This medication should be stored out of the reach of children, and it is safest not to transfer it to other containers.
