Precautions

This medication should not be used by patients with a history of allergy or hypersensitivity to quinolone antibiotics. During use, shock symptoms such as nausea, limb coldness, and difficulty breathing may rarely occur, and if such symptoms appear, usage should be immediately discontinued and appropriate treatment should be sought. Allergic reactions may manifest as cardiovascular collapse, loss of consciousness, swelling of the face or neck, difficulty breathing, skin rashes, or itching, and in such cases, drug use should be stopped. Temporary burning or irritation, pain, redness, itching, tearing, dryness, and blurred vision may occur in the eyes, and rarely, serious corneal damage or skin disorders may develop, so if symptoms worsen, use should be discontinued. Auditory disturbances or taste abnormalities and irritation symptoms may sometimes occur, and if these changes occur, consult with a healthcare professional. Long-term use of this medication may lead to resistant bacteria, and there may be a risk of other infections such as fungal infections, so it should only be used for the minimum necessary duration. The effectiveness against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is uncertain, so if MRSA infection is suspected or if there is no therapeutic effect, it should be changed to another appropriate medication. Particularly in elderly patients or when used in conjunction with steroids, the risk of tendon inflammation or rupture is increased, so if there is pain or inflammation in the shoulders, hands, or Achilles tendons, usage should be immediately discontinued. For women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, the safety of this medication has not been established; therefore, it should only be used if the benefits outweigh the risks. It is recommended that nursing women discontinue breastfeeding or the use of the medication during treatment. The safety and efficacy in children have not been sufficiently confirmed, so caution should be exercised when using this medication in pediatric patients. This medication should only be used for ophthalmic purposes, and care should be taken to avoid direct contact of the container opening with the eye. To prevent contamination, it is advisable not to share the medication with others. When storing, keep it out of reach of children and in a cool place away from direct sunlight, and do not transfer the medication to another container.
