This medication helps reduce total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, Apo B, triglycerides, and non-HDL cholesterol levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia, while increasing good cholesterol, HDL cholesterol levels. It is primarily used as an adjunct to dietary therapy and should be applied together with improvements in eating habits. When using lipid-modifying drugs in individuals at high risk of atherosclerotic vascular disease, multiple risk factors should be considered, and this medication is chosen when non-pharmacological treatment is not sufficient. Additionally, it is important to confirm secondary causes such as diabetes and hypothyroidism prior to treatment and to address them first if necessary. By following a diet that includes caloric and fat intake restrictions, this medication can be used effectively to manage blood lipid levels, thus helping to improve hypercholesterolemia and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.
