This medication is used to lower elevated total cholesterol, bad LDL cholesterol, Apo B, triglycerides, and non-HDL cholesterol levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia, and to increase good HDL cholesterol levels. It is primarily administered as an adjunct to dietary therapy aimed at improving blood lipid levels and is suitable for patients at high risk of atherosclerotic vascular disease due to hypercholesterolemia. Prior to treatment initiation, secondary causes of dyslipidemia such as diabetes and hypothyroidism should be assessed and treated if necessary, and regular blood tests are recommended to confirm accurate lipid levels. Additionally, this medication is used when dietary measures and other non-drug treatments are insufficiently effective. It helps to improve blood lipid levels and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.
