Improvement of blood sugar control in type 2 diabetes
This medication is used along with diet and exercise therapy to assist patients with type 2 diabetes in controlling blood sugar levels. It can be used alone, and for those starting treatment who have difficulty controlling blood sugar with monotherapy, it may be used in combination with metformin. Additionally, it is recommended to take this medication when blood sugar control is insufficient, even when using sulfonylureas, metformin, thiazolidinediones, or insulin alone. This medication helps manage blood sugar effectively in conjunction with multiple treatment methods. Therefore, it is used to improve blood sugar control in patients.
The recommended dosage is 100 mg once daily, either as monotherapy or in combination therapy, with a maximum daily dose of 100 mg. It can be taken without regard to meals. For patients with renal impairment, dosage adjustments are necessary. - Mild renal impairment (glomerular filtration rate [GFR] 60-90 mL/min/1.73 m2): No dosage adjustment necessary. - Moderate renal impairment (GFR 45-60 mL/min/1.73 m2): Dosage adjustment required.

Patients with type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, or those allergic to this medication or its components should not take it.
