Olmesartan Medoxomil/ Rosuvastatin 20/10 mg

Adult dose

Olmesartan Medoxomil: The recommended initial dose for adults is 10mg once daily, taken without regard to meals. If blood pressure is not adequately controlled, the dose may be increased to 20mg once daily, with a maximum of up to 40mg. The antihypertensive effect appears within 2 weeks of starting treatment, with the maximum effect observed at around 8 weeks. If necessary, thiazide diuretics can be co-administered. It is advisable to take it at the same time every day.

Child dose

Safety and effectiveness in children under 18 years of age have not been established, so it should not be administered.

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and neonate if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, so it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Individuals with allergies to this medication or its components, pregnant or potentially pregnant women, and lactating women should not take it. Patients with significantly impaired renal function, those undergoing kidney dialysis, severe liver dysfunction, or biliary obstruction should not use this medication. Patients with a history of muscle disorders or those at high risk of muscle problems must consult their doctor before taking this medication, and should avoid high-dose administration. This medication contains lactose, so patients with certain genetic lactose intolerance should not take it. Patients with low blood pressure or low salt levels may experience hypotensive symptoms at the beginning of treatment, so they should be monitored closely. Patients with weakened renal function or those who have had a kidney transplant should have their renal function and electrolyte levels monitored regularly through blood tests. Due to the risk of hyperkalemia, potassium levels should be checked periodically, and patients with heart or blood pressure-related conditions require special attention. This medication may cause muscle pain, muscle weakness, and rarely severe muscle damage known as rhabdomyolysis; if symptoms of muscle pain or weakness occur, notify medical personnel immediately. Liver function abnormalities may occur, so liver function tests should be performed regularly before and during treatment with this medication. Dizziness or drowsiness may occur, so caution is needed when driving or operating hazardous machinery. This medication may interact with other drugs, so inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking other medications. Pregnant or nursing women should not take this medication, and women who may become pregnant should use appropriate contraceptive methods. Safety for use in children or adolescents under 18 has not been established. Elderly patients may have higher blood concentrations of this medication, so dose adjustment and caution are necessary. In case of overdose, hypotension or cardiac irregularities may occur, requiring immediate medical attention and appropriate treatment if necessary. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and should not be transferred to another container.

Serious side effects

Urticaria, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweats, pallor, severe rashes with fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in mucous membranes of mouth/eyes, difficulty breathing or wheezing, asthma attacks, respiratory abnormalities accompanied by cough + fever, jaundice (yellowing of skin or eyes), profound lethargy, sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, mental confusion, visual disturbances, paralysis, urinary symptoms, etc.
