This medication is used to alleviate symptoms in patients with moderate to severe Alzheimer's disease and to slow the progression of the disease.

How to take

Adult dose

This medication is taken orally once a day and should be administered at the same time every day. If necessary, it may be taken twice a day. The dosage increase schedule is as follows: - Week 1 (Days 1-7): 5 mg once daily - Week 2 (Days 8-14): 10 mg once daily - Week 3 (Days 15-21): 15 mg once daily - From Week 4: 20 mg once daily. The recommended maintenance dose is 20 mg once daily.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with allergic reactions to any of its components. Additionally, it is safe to avoid administering it to patients with very poor liver function or severely impaired kidney function. Caution should be taken when using it in patients with epilepsy or those with a history of seizures, and in patients at risk of developing seizures.
