Relief of allergic symptoms such as allergic rhinitis and conjunctivitis, chronic urticaria
This medication is used for allergic conditions such as seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis and allergic conjunctivitis, and alleviates symptoms of chronic idiopathic urticaria and pruritus. It is also effective when used in conjunction with hydrocortisone topical preparations for eczema and dermatitis. This medication aids in the treatment of various allergic and skin disorders, improving symptoms.
Adults and children aged 6 and older should take 10 mg of cetirizine hydrochloride orally once a day before bedtime. Patients sensitive to adverse reactions may split the dose into 5 mg in the morning and evening. For patients with renal impairment, dosage and dosing intervals should be adjusted according to creatinine clearance. Normal (≥80 mL/min): 10 mg once a day, Mild (50-79 mL/min): 10 mg once a day, Moderate (30-49 mL/min)
Children aged 6 and older should take 10 mg orally once a day before bedtime, just like adults. For children with renal impairment, the dosage should be adjusted individually based on renal clearance and weight.
This medication should not be taken by individuals who are allergic to certain ingredients or have experienced hypersensitivity reactions. Overdose of this medication may lead to various side effects such as confusion, drowsiness, dizziness, and rapid heartbeat; immediate consultation with healthcare professionals is necessary. Patients should closely monitor for abnormal symptoms in multiple body areas, including the nervous system, digestive system, circulatory system, skin, liver, and kidneys. This medication may affect allergy diagnostic tests, so it is recommended to discontinue use before such tests. When driving or operating machinery, caution should be taken regarding potential drowsiness or impaired reactions caused by this medication. This medication can be taken with food, but food may slightly delay the absorption rate of the drug. Finally, this medication should be stored in a safe place out of the reach of children and kept in its original container to maintain its safety and efficacy.
