This medication is used for patients who require combination therapy with Valsartan and Rosuvastatin. Valsartan is effective in treating hypertension and heart failure, assisting patients with heart failure who are intolerant to ACE inhibitors and reducing the risk of death after myocardial infarction. Meanwhile, Rosuvastatin is used to treat hypercholesterolemia, familial hypercholesterolemia, and mixed hyperlipidemia, reducing blood cholesterol levels in conjunction with diet to delay the progression of atherosclerosis. It has also been proven effective in reducing the risk of stroke, myocardial infarction, and revascularization in patients at high risk for cardiovascular disease. Therefore, this medication is used for hypertension, heart failure, hyperlipidemia, and reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease.
Valsartan: 1. Essential hypertension - The recommended oral dose is 80 mg once daily. - If blood pressure is not well controlled, the dose can be increased to 160 mg once daily, up to a maximum of 320 mg. - In elderly patients (75 years and older), initiate treatment at 40 mg once daily. - Adjustment of dose is necessary in patients with renal impairment, volume depletion, or liver disorders. 2. Heart Failure - The recommended oral dose is 40 mg twice daily.
Safety and efficacy have not been established in children and adolescents under the age of 18, and therefore use is not permitted.
This medication may cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, and should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Patients who are allergic to this medication or its components, pregnant or potentially pregnant women, breastfeeding women, and patients with severe liver dysfunction or renal failure should not take this medication. Elderly patients, those with hyperkalemia, liver dysfunction, heart failure, or myocardial infarction should use this medication cautiously and should regularly check blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolyte levels under medical supervision. This medication may cause muscle-related side effects such as muscle pain, myopathy, and rarely rhabdomyolysis; if symptoms such as muscle pain, weakness, or cramps occur, inform a doctor immediately. Side effects such as liver dysfunction or allergic reactions, hypotensive symptoms, and hyperkalemia may occur, and if such symptoms appear, seek medical advice promptly. Interactions may occur with other medications, so patients should inform their doctors or pharmacists of any other medications they are currently taking. This medication has not been established for safety and efficacy in children and adolescents and should not be used in these populations. In cases of overdose, as there is no specific antidote, immediate medical attention should be sought, especially since hypotension or decreased consciousness can occur.
