This medication is used for the treatment of peripheral and central neuropathic pain in adults. It is also effective as an adjunct treatment for partial seizures in patients with epilepsy. Additionally, it helps alleviate symptoms of fibromyalgia. Overall, it contributes to pain relief and seizure control, thereby improving the quality of life for patients.
This medication is taken orally, divided into two doses per day regardless of food. 1. Neuropathic Pain - Peripheral Neuropathic Pain Starting dose is 150 mg per day, may increase to 300 mg per day after 3 to 7 days, and may further increase to a maximum of 600 mg per day at 7-day intervals. - Central Neuropathic Pain Starting dose is 150 mg per day, increase to 300 mg per day after 1 week.
There is insufficient safety and efficacy data for children under 12 years of age and adolescents aged 12-17 years, so administration is not recommended.
This medication may increase the risk of suicidal thoughts or behaviors, so if there are signs of depression or mood changes during treatment, you should consult a healthcare professional immediately. Patients with hypersensitivity to this drug or with certain genetic metabolic disorders should not take it. Patients with diabetes may need to adjust their blood sugar control medications due to weight gain. If symptoms of angioedema occur, stop taking this medication immediately, and elderly patients should be cautious of injury risks due to dizziness or drowsiness. There may be blurred vision or changes in eyesight, so notify a healthcare provider if unusual symptoms occur. Abruptly stopping this medication can lead to withdrawal symptoms such as insomnia, headaches, and anxiety; therefore, it should be stopped gradually under medical supervision. Due to the risk of drug abuse, patients with a history of substance abuse should be especially cautious. Patients with impaired renal function may need a dosage adjustment. Patients with heart disease require caution when taking this medication. Since it has central nervous system depressant effects, the risk of respiratory depression may increase when taken with opioid analgesics. Dizziness and drowsiness are common, so be careful when driving or operating machinery. In the early stages of pregnancy, it may pose risks to the fetus; therefore, pregnant women should avoid taking this medication, and women of childbearing age should use effective contraception. During breastfeeding, this medication may be transmitted in breast milk, so consider stopping breastfeeding or discontinuing the medication. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as altered consciousness, drowsiness, and depression may occur, and treatment such as dialysis may be necessary if needed. Keep this medication out of the reach of children and do not transfer it to another container for safety. If unusual symptoms such as skin rash, fever, or respiratory distress occur during treatment, stop taking this medication immediately and inform a healthcare professional.
Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, paleness, severe rash with fever, blisters, peeling skin, pain in mucous membranes of the mouth/eyes, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, respiratory abnormalities with cough and fever, jaundice (yellowing of skin or eyes), severe fatigue, sudden and very severe headaches, thunderclap headache, seizures, altered consciousness, visual abnormalities, paralysis, urinary issues.

Store this medication in a tightly closed container to protect it from air or moisture. It is recommended to keep it at room temperature between 15 to 30 degrees Celsius.
